Aubrey “Aubs.” Barnes is a poet; ranked third best slam poet in the state of Iowa, author, emcee, battle rap enthusiast, creative arts educator, and cohost of “Ode TO The Underdog” podcast, and host of “Black Thoughts Podcast”. His literary work “Unfin-” and “I’m Not Anti-Love, I Swear” can be found on Amazon. His rcent project “Aubizms.” can be found on all streaming platforms.
Caleb “The Negro Artist” Rainey is an author, performer, and producer. He hails from Columbia, Missouri, and holds a bachelors degree in English (Creative Writing) from the University of Iowa. He co-founded the literary magazine Black Art; Real Stories, and has been published in the Little Village Magazine and The Real Mainstream.
As a performer he is the winner of the Des Moines Poetry Slam, the Iowa City Poetry Slam, a two-time winner of the Fire & Ice Poetry Slam, and a finalist for the UNESCO City of Literature Global poetry slam. He has done spoken word around the world, including Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Illinois, Colorado, New York City, and London. He was the opening poet for Dan Brown, featured on the album Blk Boi Joy, and acted in the Iowa debut of the plays, Exit Strategy and Luna Gale.
