“I count it as my luck that in spare time from teaching at Augustana, I am encouraged enough by my family, my wonderful colleagues and students to keep up studio endeavor. I am most thankful to Midcoast Fine Arts for the opportunity to share the outcome with the viewer, whose presence and attention breathe life and whatsoever meaning into them no matter my feeble words. I hope for my effort and time to win a few nods – or grunts – from my viewers, because short of your part, these are no better than nonexistent, and will decay as matter only: same as their maker, same as us all. ”
